The film is set in a socialist and post-industrial town, where the closing of mines and factories has caused poverty and destitution.
After being fired, the filmmaker’s mother decided to invest in a twin house which she could pay for entirely with her social fee.
She lives there with her son and his teenage friends. We learn about their daily struggles for water and electricity, their communication with the neighbourhood…
The film allows us to understand this exceptional woman, as well as the implications of her choices.
