Stuffed animals wrapped by Velpeau strips, butterflies in wings decorated with badges warlike as so many fighters, inflatable dolls packed under polyester... Pascal Bernier’s works feed on paradoxes of our modern world. As these toys, barbies or plastic soldiers, raw materials of his art, of which give a double impression of innocence and perversity.
Influenced by the minimal art and its formal radicality, the Pop-art and the baroque painting, Bernier approaches the images as a painter, trying to decode the way they work and from which they are received.
André Goldberg tried to approach the work and the universe of the artist, by treating his documentary as a fiction which gives a good place to the dreams and to the fantasies.
