My work is guided by a need to hear, and see other people. I like to use video to create portraits of women who touch on the extraordinary by leading completely ordinary lives.
In my work, I especially focus on their willingness to overcome painful life experiences.
I choose to concentrate on their daily lives and their present conditions. I want to capture and show individual women rather than just their painful past stories.
I love the women I shoot.

Catherine spent ten years in prison. In this video piece, she explains how she tries to lead a new life after being deprived of her freedom during many years.
From all the things she shared with me about her past, I chose to keep only the photographs that were taken inside the premises of the prison.
